Despite the name, permanent makeup is semi-permanent. Pigments are deposited into the upper dermis (shallower than tattoo ink) and gradually fade over 1-5 years depending on the technique, your skin type, and sun exposure. Oily skin fades faster. Sun exposure accelerates fading. Annual touch-ups ($100-$300) maintain the look. Complete removal is possible with laser ($200-$500 per session, 3-6 sessions) but it's easier and less expensive to maintain than remove.
